A house on the hill

A tent in the mountains

Walking Thoreau-out the woods

Colorado's too cold even in summer

How the Texas heat kills

I try not to 

But wonder still

Why more people don't kill themselves

Why it is that I want to 

In every mundane life moment

That passes by in padded walls

In dead buildings with suffociating people

Animals in captivity 

Animals without resources

Stealing

Raping

Cheating

Beating

Why does it feel selfish to run away?

Why does it feel so hard to stay?

Why do I want to do neither?

Why do I want to do nothing?

I tried to hard to be here

I am doing, I am trying even still

I have more friends in the Ethers

Than down here below

On Her Earth of golden soil

How far do I want to go 

How far am I willing to travel

To steady my sails

To swim even further below?

There is no use in trying

To stop or change Her course

There is more use in the two of you dying

But that's what they want of us, of course. 

There is no revolution in survival

But in thriving, in loving, in laughing, in celebrating

In togetherness, in shared and individual experience

In the allowing of existence

For existance does not have to be allowed to be

And neither should we

Or they

Or them

We are all Earthlings

All analyzing our experiences, trying to stay safe

We can keep each other safe.
