Gift a Garden

San Antonio is sprawling and deeply car-dependent, making consistent access to fresh, natural food a challenge. For many neighborhoods trapped in produce and public transportation deserts, getting real food means navigating miles of concrete in direct sunlight just to reach a grocery store. We are changing that by putting food back into the hands of the people, right where they live.

Gift a Garden is a direct, neighbor-to-neighbor mutual aid initiative. The model is simple: one neighbor funds a garden setup, and another neighbor in San Antonio receives a ready-to-use vegetable and flower garden completely free of charge. By turning empty lawns into productive food spaces and native pollinator habitats, we bypass broken systems and restore true food autonomy from the ground up.
